Product Introduction

Our Lerford Sawdust briquette machine processes loose agricultural and forestry waste-such as sawdust, bamboo powder, and straw-into high-density, hollow fuel briquettes. This process relies solely on high-temperature, high-pressure extrusion, requiring no glues or binders. These raw briquettes are subsequently carbonized in a furnace to produce finished machine-made charcoal. Compared to charcoal made from ordinary wood, this product is easier to ignite, offers a higher calorific value (an increase of over 20%), and is convenient to store.

Why invest in a sawdust briquette machine?

Stacked waste materials such as sawdust, wood shavings, and straw do take up space, and money is spent to haul them away. Instead, they are merely compressed into densely packed biomass fuel rods-selling them as a fuel creates a revenue stream rather than an expense. That's the whole idea behind this machine: High pressure and heat are applied to the material (in one step), and waste is converted into "gold bars."

Sawdust Briquette Press

1. The feedstock is largely composed of agricultural and forestry waste residues; the margins are high due to modest costs of procurement.

2. The business is adaptable in that the end product can be sold as raw biomass briquettes or further processed into charcoal for more value.

3. Domestic and worldwide markets for clean biomass energy are strong, and policies are supportive both for sales in China and for export commerce.

4. It is possible to begin with one machine and eventually evolve to a complete line of the whole equipment model series, thus keeping the initial investment manageable in risk.

5. Self-bonding at high temperature and under high pressure without adding adhesives; the formed high-density briquettes not only are easily stored and transported, but also reduce the cost of distributing them over long distances.

6. The process allows production to move from one type of fibrous raw material to another. If there are disruptions in the supply of a particular kind of material, this enables flexibility in response to material supply disruptions.

Types of machines supplied by Lerford

The power options of the Lerford briquette press are electric motor, diesel engine, gasoline engine, etc.; this makes the machine work under different working conditions. Electric models are suitable for use in factories with an electricity supply; diesel or gasoline models can be used in the field without electricity.

What raw materials can be processed?

As long as the size and moisture content of the raw materials are within the suitable range, this equipment can be used to make high-quality fuel rods from almost any biomass waste containing natural lignin. with the raw material particle size and moisture content being within the suitable range.
Suitable for Processing materials:
•Wastes of wood: Sawdust, wood chips, shavings, sanding dust, and crushed waste pallets
•Agricultural by-products: Rice husks, corn stalks, crop stalks, sugarcane bagasse, coconut shells, and peanut shells
•Forestry residues: Shrub branches, bamboo powder, tree bark.
If you have other special raw materials, do not hesitate to send us a sample; we can test it for you without any charge.

Sawdust briquette machine

In order for the raw materials to be suitable for processing, they must fulfill the following conditions:

Size: The raw material should be crushed to a size of less than 8 mm (5 mm is the best). You can buy our wood crusher to fulfill this demand.

Moisture content: The moisture content should be controlled at 8 %-12%. If your raw material is too wet, our high-efficiency sawdust dryer can dry it up for briquetting.

6. Use as a fuel source for heating greenhouses and drying agricultural products.

The working principle of our sawdust briquetting machine

Key core features

1. Uses high-temperature spiral extruders; No chemical binders or glues are used. The natural lignin in the raw material acts as the bonding agent, and the finished logs meet environmental protection standards.

2. Three power models are available: electric motor, diesel engine, or gasoline engine, so it is ideal for manufacturing in a grid-connected workshop or in the wilderness without a power supply.

3. Installed a fully automatic, constant-temperature electric heating system; accurate temperature control can guarantee stable output and reduce the possibility of mold jamming or rod breaking.

4. Wear parts like the screw and die head are hardened steel; the machine has a heavy-duty design suitable for intense and continuous operation.

5. Quick-change mold system for hollow pipes in various diameters to allow various product specifications to be met.

6. Raw Material Adaptability - strong; suitable for a wide variety of biomass waste such as sawdust, bamboo chips, peanut shells, crop stalks, and fruit shells to produce shaped logs.

Wood Shredder

Wood Shredder

Logs, branches, and offcuts are fed into a shredder and processed into wood chips measuring 3–5 mm, yielding suitable raw material. Large pieces of wood must be shredded before proceeding to the next stage of the process.

Air Flow Dryer

Air Flow Dryer

Freshly crushed wood chips have a high moisture content; they are rapidly dried using an airflow dryer to bring the moisture level within the **8–12%** range. Moisture content is the most critical factor in the briquetting process; improper levels can directly lead to machine blockages or cause the briquettes to become loose and break apart.

Carbonizing Furnace

Carbonizing Furnace

The raw, hollow briquettes are placed into a carbonization furnace for high-temperature carbonization in the absence of oxygen, ultimately transforming them into finished machine-made BBQ charcoal.

Charcoal processing plant in Russia (Eastern Europe)

The client in Eastern Europe chose briquette machines with three-phase electric motors for their abundant local sawdust and reliable power supply. We developed a complete production line for the raw material, including crushing, drying, and carbonizing for manufacturing BBQ charcoal. The equipment showed low scrap rates during continuous operation, and solid, high-quality bricks were very well accepted by the market, which motivated the client to make repeated purchases to increase capacity.

02.

Agricultural and Forestry Waste Processing Plant in Ghana (Africa)

The client selected diesel-driven briquette machines, mainly because of the unstable regional power supply and his desire to get away from the hold of industrial power supply. The project utilizes local agricultural stalks and fruit shell wastes to manufacture biomass fuel briquettes that are sold to local factory boilers, saving on raw materials transportation costs. The project has a short payback period with high profits.

FAQ

Briquette making machine

Q1: What kind of finished products does the briquette machine produce?

A: It primarily produces **biomass fuel briquettes** (made from wood chips, bamboo powder, or straw). Common diameters range from 50mm to 80mm. The finished briquettes can be carbonized into charcoal. Raw materials are dried and compressed into high-density, solid briquettes with high calorific value, making them suitable for heating, boiler fuel, or as raw material for BBQ charcoal.

Q2: What raw materials can be used?

A: Wood chips, sawdust, bamboo chips, peanut shells, rice husks, straw, wood branch fragments, and fruit shells.
⚠ Raw material requirements: Particle size of 3–8mm after crushing; moisture content of **8%–12%**; must be free of hard objects like stones or metal.

Q3: What power options are available for the machine?

A: Standard electric motor models; diesel engine models are available for remote areas lacking electricity.

Q4: What is the approximate hourly output?

A: Output varies by model size: small (50–80 kg/h), medium (150–250 kg/h), and large (300–500 kg/h). Actual output depends on raw material moisture, particle size, and operator proficiency.

Q5: What is the warranty period? Which parts are excluded?

A: One-year warranty for the entire machine; wear parts (molding dies, screws, heating coils) are consumables and not covered by the free warranty, though long-term supply is available.

Q6: How is the machine packaged? Is it suitable for export?

A: Standard packaging: protective stretch wrap + solid wood crate. Suitable for sea container shipping; export customs clearance documentation can be provided.
