Equipment Overview
The whole parts of the octagonal seasoning machine is made of food grade stainless steel SUS304 which meets the standards of food hygiene. Instead of tumbling the product inside a cylinder or between two cylinders, the octagonal drum raises and drops the product on its axis, providing a 3-D tumbling action that allows the seasonings to bond more on the product surface.
Functions of Forward/Reverse Rotation and Braking for Control Handle Operation The control handle is equipped with forward/reverse rotation and braking functions for control handle operation with one hand. Two types are available: manual discharge and automatic discharge (Series A). Options include variable frequency speed control, a heated oil tank and an automatic oil spray pump, to meet the requirements of different production processes including dry powder seasoning and oil coating.
Capacity ranging from 150 to 400 kg/h is provided for the manufacturer's multiple specifications, which can meet the needs of small workshop or medium sized processing plant. Voltage is customizable to suit different national power grid standards.
II. Key Application Scenarios
This machine is suitable for a wide range of product categories:
- **Puffed foods:** Seasoning for potato chips, shrimp sticks, and popcorn.
- **Roasted nuts and seeds:** Coating peanuts, melon seeds, and almonds with powder or sugar.
- **Pet food:** Oil spraying and powder coating for dog and cat food kibble.
- **Casual snacks:** Processing rice crusts (guoba), broad beans, and green peas.
- **Meat and seafood products:** Applying seasonings to the surface of jerky, fish skins, and shrimp chips.
Installation and Commissioning Points
Do not start the machine immediately upon delivery; basic installation and commissioning are required:
1. Place the machine on a flat, solid surface and leave at least 800mm of operating space around it. Adjust the machine feet to level the unit; an uneven machine body will accelerate abnormal wear on the drum and bearings.
2. Connect the power supply using a circuit breaker rated at 32A or higher, and ensure the machine is reliably grounded. For automatic discharge models, if the lifting mechanism fails to operate correctly, swapping two of the power input wires will resolve the phase sequence issue.
3. Tighten all fasteners, clear any debris from inside the drum, and run the machine without a load for 15–30 minutes to ensure there are no abnormal noises, vibrations, or overheating.
4. For models with variable frequency speed control, simply adjust the speed control knob; other parameters are preset at the factory. It is recommended to start at a low speed and gradually increase it during initial use.
Standard Operating Procedures
1. Pre-start Check: Whole drum is clean and dry, safety shields are in place, wiring is Protecto is intact.Preflight: Drum interior is clean and dry, safety guards are installed, wiring is intact.
2. Loading & Startup Load the material first, then start the machine; all the time do not overload the rated capacity of the equipment. Loading and Start-Up: Load the material first and then power on the machine, do not overload the rated capacity.
3. Seasoning and mixing: When the drum has reached a steady speed, gradually add the seasoning; mix in forward (10-15 seconds) and backward (15-10 seconds); total stirring time: 3-5 minutes/batch.Alternate between 10–15 seconds forward rotation (easy throwing powder stage) and 10–15 seconds backward rotation (relax throwing powder stage).
If there is an electric oil spray pump: 3 seconds after the motor has started, turn on the oil pump (stop spraying when no oil left); take the drum rotation as center axis for ball use that is not necessary to the oil pumpBall should cease spraying after pump has stopped, let the drum rotate Continue this till ball is fully coated.Promote oil smoke and shave balls: Mix the oil with the balls:
Discharge: Hold the brake handle of the manual model and press down the lever on the handle to tilt the drum to discharge the mortar; For auto discharge model, press the stop button to unload automatically and the tray to catch the mud, avoid loss.
Shutdown And Cleaning When the material is finished discharging, clean out any residue in the drum and seasoning hopper, unplug the main power. Do not immerse or wash the oil-pump assembly directly in water, as the rusting oil pump may cause damage.
》》Oil Pump Tip: For oils that solidify at room temperature, drain the oil from the lines after each work session to prevent clogging; for long-term shutdowns, empty the oil tank to prevent the oil from spoiling.
Tiered Maintenance to Extend Equipment Lifespan
Proper daily maintenance significantly reduces the likelihood of malfunctions:
- **Daily**: Clean out material residue from the drum, check for abnormal noise or vibration during operation, and keep the machine body dry.
- **Weekly**: Check the tension of the V-belts, add grease to bearings, and secure all wiring terminals and machine bolts.
- **Monthly**: Inspect drum connection plate bolts, inner drum wall for wear, safety protection devices, and motor cooling fan.
- **Reducer Oil Change**: The first oil change is done after 85 cumulative operating hours; after that, the oil is changed every 6 months to N320 worm gear oil. It is strictly forbidden to operate without enough oil.
After-Sales Support
This machinery includes a 2-year all-inclusive guarantee for every day use against manufacturing and material faults. Lifetime technical support and long term spare parts availability The manufacturer provides a 24-hour response for assistance and support for remote video guided installation and start up for food processing customers domestically and internationally, making it an ideal solution also for food processing plants overseas.
