On July 17, a Lerford-KFP smart solar-powered egg incubator from Zhengzhou Runxiang Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. set off for the Port of Helsinki, Finland. This is no ordinary equipment export; it marks the first time a domestically produced smart incubator has passed the rigorous pre-screening for Nordic market entry and is truly set to operate on Finnish farms.
With a capacity of 6,636 eggs, the machine's true strength lies not in its size, but in the stability and precision of its incubation process. It features a photovoltaic array combined with a hybrid energy storage system (lithium battery and supercapacitor), ensuring continuous operation even on cloudy days. The temperature and humidity control algorithms were fine-tuned over three years of field testing across more than 20 farms; actual performance shows temperature control precision of ±0.05°C, with a temperature variance of less than 0.2°C across the chamber. Notably, it comes with built-in incubation curves for four types of poultry-chicken, duck, goose, and pigeon-allowing for one-touch switching of settings such as egg-turning angles, ventilation rhythms, and zoned humidification.
The equipment has already passed the preliminary technical compliance review by the Finnish Food Authority (EVIRA), meeting local standards for animal welfare and biosecurity. Choosing Finland as the first destination was a deliberate move; the region enforces strict regulations regarding environmental standards, material safety, and low-temperature adaptability for agricultural machinery. We viewed this market as both a "testing ground" and a "springboard." Sure enough, even before the shipment arrived, representatives from cooperatives in Sweden, Norway, and Iceland reached out to express interest in viewing the prototype and discussing distribution partnerships.
For us, this venture abroad represents more than just the sale of a single machine. It embodies a comprehensive, iterative set of green agricultural machinery standards tailored for cold climates-such as logic for clearing snow from solar panels in winter and strategies to compensate for battery performance degradation in low temperatures. These features will undergo continuous optimization based on real-world usage on Finnish farms. Looking ahead, plans are underway to establish a spare parts warehouse in Stockholm, and training programs for local engineers have already been scheduled. (A brief aside: The night before shipment, a veteran technician on the production line made a point of double-checking the heating film connectors-remarking, "It's cold in Northern Europe; our equipment can't afford to let the client down.")
