Why material matters for Africa

 

 The oven going to Zambia is made mainly from food‑grade 316L stainless steel. Compared to the more common 304, 316L has more molybdenum. That makes it much better at resisting chloride corrosion – so it handles salt spray near the coast, dust buildup in mining areas, and oxidation during rainy seasons.

The surface is electrolytically polished and has an extra passivation layer. LERFORD says it'll stay rust‑free for over five years. And because the mirror‑like finish is easy to clean, downtime for cleaning happens less often. According to LERFORD's own service data from the past three years overseas, the stainless steel model costs about 22% less to maintain and run compared to carbon steel models.

That said, LERFORD still offers a carbon steel series. Carbon steel gives you high rigidity and load capacity at a lower price. It's widely used for medium‑temperature drying and standard baking. The thinking is pretty simple: stable, economical, and easy to use. For small and medium‑sized businesses trying to cut costs and boost efficiency, it's a solid choice.

 

Performance that actually delivers

 

 

On the air circulation side, this oven uses a 3D vortex airflow design with variable‑frequency fan control. At a test temperature of 200°C, the temperature stays even within ±1.5°C. That basically solves the old problems – edges burnt, middle under‑done – and pushes the batch pass rate up to 99.3%.

The temperature control is smart too. It uses an adaptive PID algorithm controller. You can set parameters remotely through an app, program multi‑stage curves, and the system shuts down automatically if the temperature gets too high. It works for all sorts of things: drying cassava flour, roasting coffee beans, curing metal coatings.

LERFORD runs a "one machine, one file" system for lifecycle management. Every exported unit comes with its own digital twin folder – including material inspection reports, third‑party SGS certification, Zambia's ZABS import permit, and operation manuals in English and French. Later this year, LERFORD's first African technical service station will open in Lusaka. It will handle quick spare parts response, remote diagnostics, and annual check‑ups.
